Andy Frankof Roots Music Canada has been a tireless supporter of the Canadian folk and roots scene. He has interviewed, hosted, reviewed, telecast, or simply raved about the work of hundreds of independent musicians, helping them realize their own potential as creative artists.
Now, the music community is about to return the favour. Andy recently got the shock of his life: a diagnosis of cancer of the colon. This will mean some serious downtime with no income for Andy, as he clears his schedule to allow himself time for surgery, chemo treatment, and recuperation.
While Andy does the work of healing, a group of Toronto’s best musicians will be working to bring healing energy to him. This all-star benefit concert will feature a stellar lineup of roots, folk and world music all-stars, hosted by David Newland of Roots Music Canada.
The show will be broadcast LIVE across the Roots Music Canada fanbase and will raise much-needed funds to help Andy and his dear wife Helen along on his journey to wellness.
